Kira Ahn Releases New Skins; Damiani Fashion SLelebrates Grand Opening Of Their Own Sim





This past Sunday, Patty Cortes and her GLANCE International Agency crew helped Kira Ahn launch her new line of skins, which she markets under her KA Designs label. The theme was, "Lost", as in the TV of the same name, in which people are stranded on a desert isle--complete with TV crew, electricity, internet connections, sexually attractive people--just like being really stranded on a desert isle would really be like, in the real world. DJ Kromus Korobase provided the music, and SL's fun and fashionable were out in force.



I often get criticized for being the most risque' ad-libber at any social event, but I think this little bit of chat proves that I am far from being the only one guilty of bawdy humor. I would also like to publicly apologize to Takeshi Kiama. I had said that it is very hard not to add a "T" to the end of his name, which made Patty Cortes IM me and ask me what the hell my damned problem was with Takeshi. I told her I had no problem at all with him, he's always been cool with me, but his name does make me subconciously add a "T" to the end of it--kind of the way the Japanese Shitake mushrooms make me want to add another "T" in there and split the one word into two. Takeshi, if you are reading, and one day at a party I accidentally say, "Takeshit", instead of, "Takeshi", please don't take it personally, it's a subconcious thing.



If you haven't been over to Kira Ahn's place to drop a few $L, you must TP your ass over ASAP. Kira is the consummate creator--she even built her own buildings. Everything she does, she does well, so if you are looking for skins or clothing that is top-notch, but a little more unique than the standard, "zomg if I see that (something really ridiculously popular) one more time I'm going to build a tall building out of huge prims and jump off of it without clicking on 'fly'", her place is definitely on the "must see" list.

After the Lost party at KA Designs, we all TP'd our booties over to the fabulous new Damiani sim. Studio Red was hired to do this party, so you know it was insanely successful. The turn-out was huge, and the entertainment was "la creme." I wasn't there very long, but Xochi did ask me what I thought of the lady DJ, to which I replied that I liked her very much. I think her name was Tasty Hax, although I may be mistaken, so if you are looking for a good DJ, and none of the more popular ones are available, she is definitely worth a peeky-poo.



This is a pic of Damiani designers Kaoz Koba, Pompeja Rossini, and (not a designer, just a friend) Boe Cortes. I wasn't able to get any pics of this huge party (I crashed before everything was fully rezzed, then crashed again not long after I relogged), but Boe was nice enough to let me use this pic, which he posted to the Damiani Flickr group. If you haven't shopped at Damiani, you really need to go. They make gorgeous skins and clothes, and everything is A-1 First Quality. I don't know Kaoz Koba, but Pompeja is a super cool chick who is always good for a few "lols", and she's usually doing stuff around the store, so don't be afraid to say, "hi." (Watch her grief me now for saying it's ok to bug her). :)



I would like to thank Kira Ahn, Pompeja Rossini, and Kaoz Koba for the fun parties, and the gifts. Kira Ahn hooked me up bigtime with a fatpack of her new tanned blonde skins. This skin (on the left in the picture) has the hair drawn on and prim hair, so the hair textures match perfectly. The prim hair is also mod, so I was able to run my mouse through it and shape it into a style that I actually occassionally wear in RL. Guys don't have a lot of options for drawn-on blonde hair, so if you like having a more summery appearance at this time of year, or maybe you feel like rawkin an Eminem bleached blonde look, this skin is a must-have. Note how well-done the ears are on the KA skin. Kira also has a skin that has a black eye and some scars here and there, for all you role-playing knuckleheads.

One of the gifts at the Damiani party was this skin. At first I was really excited to find out I had just gotten a freebie Damiani skin, but then was like, "damnit", when I realized it was the "I just got knocked the fuck out!" skin. I had also TP'd someone else to snatch up a freebie skin for himself, and he really loved it. He's into RP, and likes the Goth/Emo styles, so this runny eyeliner with blood and scratches kind of look was a welcome addition to his skin collection.
