Second Pride Festival 2009The Second Pride Festival is a festival of the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,Transexual) Community. The concept and idea is similar to the well known GayPrides around the world. This event does not concern people joining together anywhere in the real world, only in the virtual world of Second Life®,created by Linden Lab™. For the duration of the event, anybody with a Second Life account can connect to the festival's location and join the celebration. Various activities are available on site, such as visiting of the many vendor stands promoting businesses or charities, GLBT locations and causes, discussions, debates, parties, amusement rides, and more.
To make the festival happen, donation kiosks will be placed around the Second Life grid. The funds are used to rent the sims, and operate the festival. All extra donations will be forwarded to a charity organization, chosen by the Second Pride committe. SP09 is working with AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL this year, and their movement called Outfront, which is an organization to support freedom of expression of the LGBT people and community around the globe. When Does It Happen? The location of the Second Pride Festival 2009 remains to be chosen. For the two previous years, the festival has been held on the six mainland sims of Ruthenium, Rhodium, Osmium, Iridium, Platinum and Paladium. Until the time of the festival, those sims did not contain any content mentioned above, as they belong to Linden Lab™.
The Second Pride Headquarters building is located on a sim called "Dombersnark". The HQ is at ground level, and contains all the information about Pride that you will need ingame. Just like internet URLs, there will be direct teleport links on Second Life called "SLURLs". The direct SLURL to the Pride HQ is:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dombersnark/189/75/40. Simply click here with your Second Life account open to teleport to that location. The committe holds regular meetings prior to the time of the festival. For more information on committee meeting schedules, please consult the forum's calendar, or contact DannielScarlet Destiny(

How You Can Get InvolvedThe Second Pride Festival needs your support to be the greatest one ever. If you feel like helping, don't hesitate to contact a Pride Committee member to ask how you can help! There will always be a need for people with building and/or scripting skills, people for translations, and people to share ideas with the committee!
How To Rent A Stand At The FestivalPlease contact a committee member for the list of available sponsorships and vendor spots. To reserve one for the duration of the Pride event, please contact Jace Lewis(
jacelewis@secondpride.com). The prices shown on the list are paid only once for the whole event. All proceeds go to charity.
