Stolen goods. We've all seen them. Linden Lab doesn't do anything about it. They might ban someone, but that person will probably always be back on another account. Those "in the know" say that it is easy to make illegal copies of anything. Some people are smart enought to make sure the original designer's name is taken out of the description, others don't even go that far. It's ok to make illegal copies of someone else's creations, and sell them as your own, but posting a conversation, which someone else already typed in cyberspace, is grounds for capital punishment.

PROPOSAL FOR CENTRALIZED BAN MANAGEMENT

I believe that only centralized approach and system used by many creators
all together will allow us to make some sufficient changes in current
copyright theft situation.


THE IDEA
********
Each creator registers all bad avatars names by using the web system.
Bad avatar - the one who is wearing copybotted item or is doing any other SL crime.
Those names are being stored and kept in MySQL database which resides on external web
server.

Each creator places one or several one-prim kicker devices in his/her store. Device
detects every avatar who visits the store, checks his/her name against the bad avatar name
database list and if names match - bad avatar is being kicked out of the store immediately
(returned to his home).


BENEFITS
********
Once bad avatar is added to the database - it will get kicked out from each and every store
where the kicker device is installed. Look at it as an expanding network of stores. The bigger it
will become - the more painful the punishment for the bad avatars. This way we could help each
other more efficiently as well by not wasting time to manually share the lists but working with
one big list instead.


WORK TO DO

1) Kicker-device scripting;
2) MySQL database creation;
3) PHP/HTML web system (adding/deleting names, searching, lists etc)


REQUIRED RESOURCES

1) external dedicated php/mysql server with good bandwidth (costs around 100USD/mo);
2) scripters who dould actually do the development;
