RUNWAY MAGAZINE UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP? ........ERRR, EMMM NO ITS NOT

Today has to be have been one of the busiest days this year for Slinworldtoday. Rawly and I have been swamped with IM over the dramatic and scandalous closure of Runway Magazine. We don’t really care why it closed but we do have great concerns over the mess that has been left behind. I realised that while there are a few people on the grid who see us as a bit of a joke, there are lots who came to us today for help with this serious matter.

Runway staff members, who will on their request remain nameless, came to tell me a story that seems to have started last weekend. The staff at Runway were told by one of the owners, Ocean Bates, their park sim was sold, Runway would be closing and that they would be paid on Sunday afternoon. Of course this would be all too simple and perfect because by Sunday afternoon Ocean Bates and Maggie Mahoney had, with pre-booked E –Tickets, left the grid. I say Pre-Booked , because I am on the grid long enough to know that sims cant be sold in 5 minutes. It’s not like you just wake on Friday morning and decide to sell up, find a buyer and the sim just disappears from the grid. This seems to have been a premeditated escape, because that is exactly what happened.

Although Maggie and Ocean haven’t been in contact with anyone, it seems that they must have been because they handed over the Magazine to the staff to do as they pleased. That was ok until the staff contacted Frolic Mills, to ask him to be involved. Maggie, in a dramatic U-turn took back the Mag and its now owned by no one. More will follow when my head starts spinning and I actually make sense of this.

For whatever reason the Magazine has been closed but there still seems to be a tiny little issue that I intend to clear up and that would be when the advertisers going to be refunded for their adverts. I happen to know for a fact that some paid 50k and upwards for adverts and Ocean Bates always made them pay 6 months in advance.

I have contacted both Payton Heron and EmmZ Tzara and both of them told me that they knew nothing and are not in any contact with Maggie or Ocean. They will not be paying anyone, reimbursing anyone for advertising and will not be carrying on the magazine. Emmz told me that last month she wasn’t even paid.

That is all on this scandal for the moment. We will endeavour to bring you more as we hear it.
