ARE RUNWAY ADVERTISERS TO GET RIPPED OFF YET AGAIN?.....I DUNNO I'LL LET YOU DECIDEWhile most people are thinking that the whole Runway Runaways drama is over, there is still some people who are left feeling just a tiny bit pissed off. Those people would be the advertisers who paid upwards of 50k for adverts to run a minimum of 6 months.
Yesterday it was brought to my attention that Icon Magazine had offered the advertisers free advertising to make up for loosing there money at Runway. A card had been sent to all the advertisers and it had made its way to the slinworldtoday 'In' tray.
On reading this card I could see why people might have been a bit pissed off. It seems some people just can't wait to let the dust settle and let people stop being angry at being ripped off.
The Owner of Icon had offered a free advert to all advertisers, but this was only if the advertisers paid anything from 12k a month until June..... so technically its not free....and they have to take further ads as well. I decided to go and ask the owner of this magazine for her side of the story.
Anyway about an hour past and to be honest I had saw something a bit more shiny and had moved on, but then I received this IM....Read on. Oh yeah, there is more than 15 advertisers in the Mag I got dropped on me btw.
Its seems Miss Footman had decided, after obviously checking me out, that she would jump with her side of the story first and print the convo in her site.
I am sure lots of people will make up their minds very quickly over why this gesture of goodwill was made. After all, and I quote, they wanted to be as transparent as possible.
My message would be to stop and think before you try to rip off people who have been ripped off enough and had their money stolen.
