Now that the ho-lidays are upon our asses like white on rice--or brown on rice, if you eat that nasty brown rice--finding the perfect gift can be a real challenge for all you knuckleheads that are sucked into the commercialized exploitation of consumers that is like sooooo incredibly common at this time of year that it's like the world's oldest cliche'. Fortunately, in SL we have FashCon, so we can "shop" while doing normal stuff like working or having meetings regarding our latest creations. Here are a few things that have made me chuckle this past week.
Luis and I were discussing my latest building project, when this notice was sent out. It sounded intriguing, as I was made aware of a part of a person's being that I was not even aware existed. I googled "dipper", and the closest thing I could surmise is something that is akin to a kind of dipstick, something that is inserted into something else. I thought this must be incorrect, or maybe pleasing a man's "dipper" with jewelry really is possible. Perhaps this is some kind of new style cock ring or something.
Shortly thereafter, this notice was received, about a Miss Costa Rica choker. I am pretty sure that this product was not approved by Costa Rica, as any jewelry store that is actually going to have people spending their time to find THREE ITEMS WORTH TEN LINDEN DOLLARS EACH is...um...can you say, "cheap?" Now, come on, just because you are giving away crap at holiday time doesn't mean your ass isn't a friggin scrooge. If anybody knows this designer, please tell them I said, "you're an asshole."
Finally, the name of this store always cracks me up and fills me with sarcastic comments (oh, this is attractive stylish hair? I was looking for unnattractive, non-stylish hair). This wasn't a FashCon notice, I just found this store when I was wandering around the sim after shopping at the Sey mainstore at Dock Louge. The store seems to have quite a customer base, so perhaps the nerdy Japanese naming strategy is effective, after all. I thought that maybe I had "discovered" this store, but, of course, Gawdfather Of Fashion Maddox had already blogged about this hair on MadImage--which I read about a few days after this experience.
