On Sunday, December 7, we got together to help 3 of our flavorite SL homeys SLelebrate some special events. This were smaller parties compared to the ones put on by KMADD or Studio Red, but they were still a lot of fun, and had great turnouts.

The first party was for DJ Azu's housewarming, the CAZU party. He DJ'd the event himself, of course, and it was a more intimate affair, mostly for his 400 or so closest amigos. I had showed up late, and crashed before everything was fully rezzed, so I didn't get very many pics of this at all. Azu is a talented photographer, as well, with his own Flickr account, so make sure you bug him about his Flickr URL. Warning: If pictures of the lower halves of women's anatomy are offensive to you, don't look at his Flickr.

I had showed up late because I spent the day building the venue for the birthday party for Carmichael Caudron and Wet Snowdrop. I was just going to use the Temple of Fire from the Playing With Fire event, but had a nightmare the night before of MADdox saying, "That's already been done, you can't do that again because you've already done that, it's been done, done, done, done, done....." After the MADdox nightmare, I had another dream where Barry Manilow was singing, "At the Copa...", so I built a Copa Cabana. It's not really a totally finished building, but it was OK for the party. Thanks to Giancarlo Takacs for letting us use the brand spanking new Costa Rica Events sim for this party. Because of the new LL tier increase on open space sims, Costa Rica now has one full sim--meaning 15,000 tantalizingly delicious prims--available at all times for parties. If you are planning on having a large event in the future, and need a place to have it at, make sure you book the sim early. The building there now is only temporary, so anyone who books the sim is welcome to build their own structures.

Kicking off the birthday bash was DJ Syriana Paine. Syriana seems to have been keeping a somewhat lower profile these past few months, but she's still one of SL's best DJs, and proved that she's still the girl with the goods. She did a fantastic job getting things started off on the right foot, although I do question the song (or songs, wasn't sure if it was one or two) she allegedly played for me, which were "Glamour Bitch" and "Crazy Rich." Other than that, she did an awesome job, and me log her long time.

People were showing up fashionably late, as expected, but once things got underway, I kept getting IM's about people not being able to get into the sim because it was full. It must have been an SL fluke, because the map was only showing around 40 or so avatars in the sim, and we had raised the limit to 70.

Little Miss Demure HarMonica Aabye proved that she's not really the innocent little ingenue that she pretends to be. She professed her fondess for "highlight transparent", and for clicking on Xciteables.

Mikedacock Dinzeo had no trouble showing up in full Xciteable regalia, and birthday boi Wet Snowdrop wore his trademark Xcite nipples.

After Syriana's set, DJ Azu, still hot and steamy from the CAZU party, took over the tables. Wet and I had made an Azu sammich, with some Owen, Peebee, and Sunshine on the side.

Notorious socialite and Hollywoood Gestures mama Blazin Aubret showed up to check out Giancarlo's banana. Apparently she misunderstood when someone IM'd her and said, "Giancarlo has a banana on his head."

Throughout the 3 hours of the party the sim stayed pretty busy, but the later it got, the more people showed up.

Some people must have thought this was a KMADD event, because eventually the clothes started to come off. Krissy was always in her Vegas Showgirl peacock ensemble, but birthday boi Carmichael was originally in a suit, which he said Krissy insisted he wear. He didn't waste any time stripping down to boxers.

In true "saving the best for last" fashion, David Logan, a.k.a. "Sexiest Man In SL" showed up. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing any Xciteables, but HarMonica had already logged out by then, so he probably wouldn't have been getting Xcited, anyway.
