SECOND LIFE PRISON-A PLACE FOR BAD AVATARS
I have often thought about how much fun it would be, if we got sent to prison for breaking the LL TOS. Don’t laugh though because apparently a while ago, that was a procedure that had been implemented by LL. Rumours of a secret hidden prison have been circulating in second life for a while-yet only those of us who have anything to be wary of need to know about it. This place is called The Cornfield. Some say it’s not real, but no one knows for sure.
The Cornfield is a place where avatars who have been temporarily suspended for being bad, yet not bad enough for a total ban, might find themselves should it be appropriate. It’s a place said to be moon lit all the time and looks like a corn field (imagine that!) No one can visit, you can’t communicate with anyone and you can’t teleport out.
I have searched the grid for anyone who has been in this place and found no one, so of I went to look for second Life prison, albeit without breaking the LL TOS.
I didn’t find the Cornfield, but being the fine investigative journalist I am, I did find the next best thing...... Second Life Prison.
On arriving at the gates of this prison, I found the walls adorned with notices and while trying to work out how to open the door to get in, someone showed up to ask me if I wanted a job or if I wanted to put my name down on a list to become a convict./Me was thinking to herself, Does she know who I am?

This place has a waiting list of people who just can’t wait to experience what it is like to be in prison, and while I declined the offer to incarcerate myself in a cell, I couldn’t wait to have a nosy around. I was told it was a very private place and to respect that.
Ok here is the the pictures i took. SL is so brill that I was able to sit in the lobby and cam all round the place and snap to my heart’s content.
The cells are all locked, although I thought you must have to be trusted not to get dressed up and tp out or IM you best friend for late night chats. I was wrong. On joining the prison, you must give them your av key and they stop you from communicating or getting out.Dont ask me how but that is what it said on the wall. I was surprised when I saw some of the cells full and there wasn’t a camping chair in sight....but there was a condom machine in the day/visiting room. Just like a real life prison, inmates get to send out visiting passes. I am still a bit puzzled by the condom machine though.

I was laughing, but deep down I was wondering what makes people want to experience prison. Wouldn’t it just be easier to go out in real life and rob a bank!
Anyway, it wasn’t long till I found the punishment room. It had that legendary, SL bizarre, sexual undercurrent, running right through it. Well, I figured this whole jail “thing” must have been a fetish “thing”.
I decided that SL jail, being locked up with no IM, and sending out visitor passes, wouldn’t be for me. Then I saw the prison uniform and I felt breathless and thought I was going to pass out or puke. It wasn’t long till my game was up and I heard that all familiar question, “OK who is taking pictures?. It was time to split.
Should you want to visit this place, don’t look at me for a slurl, I tp’d out and crashed and when I tried to get back I couldn’t. I might have been the first SL avatar banned from SL prison.
