FIRE ISLAND UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP ( BUT HALF OF IT IS MISSING)
Sl was buzzing last week with news that fire island was now under new ownership. Beau Loring and Micha Fotherington had bought it of Carter Giacobini. A lot of people must have been wondering why I wasn't going to write about it, as I have been getting IM'd all week, asking why I hadn't done an article.

Well, I thought I would just wait it out, because being an expert on the behaviour of people and knowing the former owner,and how he likes to be in charge, especially of what isn't even his, I just knew that there was going to be some sort of drama before the week was out.

I had been invited with a few (hundred) other ex cons who had been doing time of the ban list of fire island, courtesy of the former owner, Carter Giacobini.
It wasn't just a normal ban list, it was huge and everyone was on it. I was on it and I had only been on fire island twice. I got banned because of my very open, truthful and opinionated nature. Oh yeah and for the fact that I own this newspaper and I say what goes in it, not the people who get wrote about in it.
Anyway, the new owners who we all know and love, had cleared the ban list...... and I just knew that this was gonna cause drama.

On arrival at the party, I couldn't help noticing that the former owner was there. To everyone else I suppose it looked like he was there to support the new owners- but not to me. He was very quiet and I just knew he was seething at the amount of enemies that surrounded him and he had no control over this.
I decided to change my thinking. Maybe I was being paranoid? Maybe he wasn't the control freak everyone said he was? Maybe we had all moved on and grown up a bit ? Maybe he didn't mind seeing us all there?

Wrong, as if, stop.

While the party was fun, apparently the rest of the week for Beau and Micha wasn't so fun. Carter did have a problem with the ban list being wiped. He got in a heated debate about this and the new owners had to tell him that they were now in charge. However, he didn't like it and took drastic steps to show the new owners just how unhappy he was.

On Friday evening I got a call to go to Fire Island because Hurricane Carter was ripping up the buildings and deleting them. Beau and Micha had purchased the islands and all builds but hadn't done this in the second life don't- trust- anyone- way. They, being very nice guys have learned the lesson that not everyone is a nice guy and not everyone can be trusted. They immediately escorted the former owner, who was busy carting of bits of the buildings- buildings that business owners he knew were renting, to the ban line.
He just got a few alts though and kept coming back-for about 2 hours. Then he just stood on the neighbouring Sim and proceeded to rip chunks out of the mall.
Micha and Beau finally got something sorted and both started the clean up job.

They would like to thank everyone who came to help out last night and to apologise to any renters in the mall for the destruction-it really wasn't their fault.
