THE BLAME AND THE FAME
Its been ages since I wrote a column. I have started so many, got halfway through and scrapped them. Its not that I haven't been doing anything in my second life, because I have been doing loads and actually learnt some new stuff. I realised after much soul searching in recent weeks, that I am good at one thing and it seems to be creating mayhem, so I figured I better get my finger out and start doing it. Last week I wrote a little article and look at the trouble it got me in......Woops.
I had a lot of IM over the weekend, from concerned readers who were worried about me. Yes, everything you heard was true. I was threatened and I had the sl version of Joan Collins tell me that I was, and I quote "Going to have drama like you never had in your sl before"(yawn). Yes, I was threatened with the police, although I had to ask if it was to be the sl police or the real life police. I soon discovered that the person was talking about the real police and I almost immediately fell of my seat laughing.
I had visions of marksmen and cops, with loud speakers, standing outside my nice real life home, in quiet, respectable, suburbia yelling "Natalie Niven we have you surrounded ....blah blah". The more I laughed though, I actually started to think that it might not be so funny, because I wouldn't hear them with my ipod blurring in my ears.
So, in one IM I had the police coming and in the other I was being bombarded with absurd demands, ultimatums and the air was blue with the amount of times the other person, who I will call Joan, called me a F***** or said the word F***. Is it any wonder my loyal friends and readers where worried about me, yet I am fine and I am still waiting on Interpol to come.
Again I got the blame, because someone screwed up in their second life. I wondered all weekend how it was my fault. I got the blame for the comments that where being left. Apparently they said I should have taken them out, but then that's not fair-is it?
I remember writing one time, that fame in sl was wanted by many. There was people who wanted the exposure, yet only when it suited them or when it was to their advantage to have it. I have read all the second life publications, they send out praise and its all brill were no one ever falls on their face. That's why this paper is different and while I will heap praise on you for doing brilliant work, I am not here to score points or kiss ass. I am on my own here, I need no one to help me and If you want fame and notoriety, then take the good with the bad because I am here to give you the Slebrity Experience.
I will continue to write what the people of sl wanna read. If you take yourself of my friends list cause I tell the truth, then so be it, just don't slander me when you think your with people you trust or ill have to write about the time you where a female prostitute or something like that.
So after all that , Is it possible to wreck what was already wrecked?
