TAXMAN WANDERING IN SL......ARE YOU COOKING YOUR BOOKS?
We'd all love to be able to make a real life living from sl. Can you all imagine the fun of sitting at the pc all day and watching the lindens roll in. For some, this is a very real occurrence and anyone who has pulled this off, deserves a round of applause, for they are living the sl dream. Sadly for a lot of them, the dream will soon turn into a nightmare.
Very real life governments across the globe, are now beginning to take second life very seriously. They are researching the money transactions and they know who makes all the money in sl and more importantly, they know who isn't paying income tax on the money made.
The latest argument is, should we have to pay tax on virtual earnings and is there a way to hide in sl? A lot of people think that sl, is the perfect hiding ground for a lot of stuff, but in most countries tax evasion is very, very real and if your tax man wants to find you, he will find you.
Rumour has it, that real life tax inspectors are wandering in sl, collecting names and info just to make sure that they are getting a slice of the action.
